Paul Steinke, Therapist

With empathy and compassion, Paul works with individuals and couples to provide practical and experiential solutions to life’s struggles and problems. He seeks first to understand and enter into an individual’s story with the care and respect that is deserved. He believes in the potential for each person to change, and for each couple to grow closer in their bond together. Passionate about working through issues people face today, Paul is excited to walk with each person as they grow into the fullest parts of themselves. He spent his formative years in a culture that values community and relationship. One that believes we need each other to go through life well, and as a community offers support to each individual. He strives to live this out in my practice with my clients and with my peers. Paul appreciates what each person has to offer and believe together we can make a positive impact in someone’s life. Divorce is a painful, messy and life-altering event; one that presents easy opportunity to isolate, withdraw and disconnect from ourselves and others when we need community the most. Paul holds an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Additionally, he received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

I believe in the uniqueness and value of each person, and that each individual’s life story and experience are important. From a person-centered approach, I strive to see and meet each person where they are. We are each at our best when we experience a secure bond with another person. However, often those bonds are broken, or never develop, leaving one alone and disconnected. I help people develop secure bonds with others, and grow as someone who can connect with themselves and another, and be a safe person for someone else to bond to.
