Nancy Hamilton, Therapist
Nancy Hamilton has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She describes her style as somewhat unorthodox in that she is very interactive with her clients. There’s not a lot of head-nodding and asking you how you feel. But her hope is that you will feel supported and come out of each session with greater clarity and practical ideas for your next steps. Ms. Hamilton does her best work treating adults who struggle with relationship and intimacy challenges. Her practice is comprised of approximately 50% individuals and 50% couples. When she meets with couples, she also meets with each person individually to address the issues that do not involve their spouse, partner or significant other. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups in private practice. She has also served as a school social worker with children and adolescents for 10 years. Ms. Hamilton earned a B.A. in Psychology and Humanities from the University of Colorado and a M.S.W. from Smith College School of Social Work, Northampton, MA. Ms. Hamilton has a passion for horses and equine psychotherapy. She is a certified PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) instructor. She has appeared on the Dr. Phil Show, PBS Frontline, NBC Dateline and ABC Nightline.
